For Your Weekend Entertainment: Goat Man

by J J Cohen

Forget Netflix: here is your weekend amusement on demand, right at ITM. Grab a bowl of popcorn. Turn down the lights. My son shot this little horror film and then used iMovie to edit. A six minute re-enactment of the Legend of Goat Man (the deformed sibling of the Blair Witch: alert MEARCSTAPA!), it features some summer camp friends. You'll even glimpse bonus footage at the end in which Alex makes an appearance.

Your nightmares will endure for years. Really...

  1. Mainly, it's the guttural yowling and panting of the goat-man that I can't get out of my mind, its plaintive notes of unimaginable sufferings, alone in the woods, and its threat of the goat-man's lurking menace, his horror, his mutilated soul. My hand shakes as I write this, too frightened to venture into the basement to check on my laundry, too scared to ever take a walk in the forest again, with such mangled creatures in it. Edgar Allen Poe has nothing on this Alex kid, this boy wonder, this autuer of the fairy forest, this scare-mongering genius.

I loved his very auterist moment at the end, claiming all or most of the credit. Look out film world, here comes Alex!

"I don't like this idea. I just think we're going to get eaten and then we're all going to be gone."

Excellent! It's like a Joss Whedon line. Also, it should be used in department meetings as much as possible

  4. *wow*

I never used to have nightmares...but the sound of the prospect park expressway out my window suddenly sounds like...terror. bravo.

actually, I think better than Joss Whedon.

  5. This definitely gives the likes of The X-Files and Shyamalan a run for their money!

A goat man in the woods!!! Scary, very scary!!! I wonder if Alex has already thought of a sequel with Goat Man finding the Wherewolf!
